Ostensibly, the show is an attempt to bridge cultural differences... In practice, however-and despite the participation of Nigerian-British co-creator Gina Yashere-it exoticizes its female lead and cracks easy jokes grounded in stereotypes.September 23, 2019
They have zero chemistry. They do not go on a date. They do not say anything funny.September 23, 2019
The problem with the show, which is evident pretty much from the start: Abishola can do better than Bob.September 23, 2019
Bob Hearts Abishola has just enough heart (no pun intended) to put it ahead of how most Chuck Lorre comedies started, including huge hits like Two and a Half Men or The Big Bang Theory.September 23, 2019
Olowofoyeku and Gardell work diligently, but they're not given much to play besides good intentions.September 13, 2019

I'm happy to report my concerns were (mostly) unfounded due to the show's surprising level of nuance, which renders Bob Hearts Abishola nothing short of groundbreaking.
